Hello Amsterdam

Hello Amsterdam
Updated: December 14, 2021 by [email protected]

Guys, IT’s Amsterdam!!!

A city of 1500 bridges, 50km of canals and more bikes than people, Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most popular cities, attracting visitors from around the world.

Along with its beautiful gabled houses and flower-decked watersides, there’s a huge amount of things to see and do in Amsterdam, whether your interests are Golden Age art or graffiti, high culture or getting high in a coffee shop.

But this wealth of amazing experiences doesn’t have to come with a giant price tag attached to it.

Take in the sunset views over the canal

Of course, one of the most impressive features of Amsterdam is the lovely canals that dip around every corner. It makes for such a peaceful addition to this busy city. I love seeing the house boats bop atop the canals. The best time is to watch the bright orange light pop at sunset over the glittering canals. A famous spot is the “7 Bridges” where you can see 7 arcs light up at night. Be aware: they aren’t as grand as you might imagine (just simple brick bridges). But the canals themselves are the real show.

Make a turn for the Red Light District

The Red Light District is world famous for it’s women (and men) in the windows. Yes, paying for sex is legal here and you can see it on display on the streets. It is interesting to walk around and see what this street is all about.

The ultimate Amsterdam beer

Heineken Experience

Amsterdam has aways been a city of beer lovers. It is home to a variety of breweries and places for beer tasting, but Heineken is still the biggest name and one of the most traditional Amsterdam beers. After Heineken constructed a larger and more modern brewery on the outskirts of Amsterdam, they converted their former home into a museum that opened in 1991. Now dubbed the Heineken Experience, it offers four floors of multimedia exhibits, historical brewing artefacts and a tasting bar. There’s also ‘Brew Your Ride’, a 4D adventure that allows visitors to discover what it’s like to be a bottle of Heineken.

Canals

The canals of Amsterdam are incredibly beautiful, and there’s nothing like seeing the city from a boat. Skip the big canal boat tours you see around the city — they’re overpriced. You can often hire a private boat tour for about 20 Euros an hour (look for guides around the Red Light District). Moreover, you can also take the open-air open boat tour. The boats are small, the tours more intimate, and your captain will give you a good personalized tour. The tours last about an hour and it leaves from Damrak Pier 6, Central Station East, Leidseplein, and Rijksmuseum.

I Love AMSTERDAM

This is a very famous sign which you should visit and take pictures.
